Royal babies are assured of two things: they will gain a great deal of public attention and will be christened in a
spectacular robe. A robe designed by Prince Albert, German consort of Queen Victoria, for their first child. It is one of
white lace and satin.

                                                                                                    Queen Victoria and Princess Royal

It is almost impossible to bring them up as ordinary children as the fact is the Royal Family would not be royal if they
were ordinary. Although the pressures on them now are not as heavy as Edward VI, writing over 100 pages of Latin
before the age of 10 years old, out of the ordinariness remains something the public expects. The royal mother
herself being under pressure the moment the honeymoon ends with speculation 'is she, isn't she and if not why not?'
Then the announcement made officially and immediately the question 'Will everything be all right?' The royal baby
born and the Press and media in pursuit of any story, any scrap of information, cameras catching every action and
the royals knowing their duty is to be seen and heard. The Press are the vital link between them and the people.
Anything that the prince or princess says or does, they learn at a very young age, will make instant headlines.
Catherine and William's baby (or babies) will be born in St Mary's Hospital, London where William was born.

It's a Prince!

On Monday, the world welcomed the newest addition to the royal family and the future heir to England's throne.
Palace officials confirmed the arrival of His Royal Highness the Prince of Cambridge, born at St. Mary's Hospital at
4:24 p.m. BST, and weighing 8 lbs. 6 oz..

"We could not be happier," said Prince William in a statement released by the palace shortly after the birth of his son.
He was at his wife's side during her delivery, unlike past royals. Both mother and child are doing fine, the palace
confirmed.

The newborn is officially called the Prince of Cambridge. He is the first royal to use that title in 100 years.

The birth marks a new era for not only the first-time parents but also the extended royal family. As third in line to
succeed to the throne after his grandfather Prince Charles and his father, Prince William, he's the first baby born
under new succession laws.

Prince Charles elaborated in a statement released through Clarence House. "Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the
arrival of my first grandchild," he added. "It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so
thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy."

The third future heir to the British throne has been named George Alexander Louis and will be known officially as
HRH Prince George of Cambridge. He will be the first Prince George of Cambridge in more than 100 years.

Note:  It seems possible that Prince William thought of his Spencer heritage from his mother when choosing his son's
names.

Princess Diana had three nephews named, you guessed it, George, Alexander, and Louis, her brother Charles
welcomed son Louis Frederick John Spencer in 1994, while her sister Sarah gave birth to George Edmund born 17
November 1984, and Jane to Alexander Robert, born 23 March 1983.

Hello everyone,

Like you all I am thrilled by the exciting news of the big bouncy baby boy born to Catherine and William. As I
remember it being a parent is quite the most amazing feeling, one incomparable to any other. I can hardly believe that
the years seem to have flown by so fast since I became mummy to William and Harry. I am thrilled at being a fairy
grandmother for the first time, but saddened naturally at not being able to be with them all physically but I will be
around them.

I am as thrilled by this news as Charles has expressed he is at being a grandfather for the first time and I know he'll be a
wonderful grandparent as will the other grandparents, Catherine's mother and father, Carole and Michael. I am sure
Harry will be a perfect uncle and godfather.

I also find it somewhat ironic that at the same time of this royal event happening the two patients with double barrelled
names, Mr L. Cullen-Brooks, former under-butler to the butler of the late HM Queen Mother, and Mr A. Russell-Davis,
are being hospitalized at the same time opposite ends of the same ward. So one might say that the Establishment and the
People's Princess are united for it, albeit distinctly separated by distance.

Being an hereditary monarchy its greatest goal therefore is to reproduce and with their baby son born Catherine and
William have achieved this which will please the current Monarch but more than this, on a much more personal level,
they achieved becoming a family now being proud parents and I have complete confidence that both Catherine and
William will make a wonderful job of that.

Thank you to everyone for the wonderful global love and support for my eldest son and his beautiful wife and their
wonderful news.

                  With love from,
                                                   Diana

Interesting facts about Diana's grandson H.R.H. Prince George of Cambridge

The first son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge assuming Charles then William are Sovereign and follows them
will be the 43rd Monarch since William the Conqueror took the crown of England in 1066. He will then become Head
of the Armed Forces, Supreme Governor of the Church of England and Head of State of 16 countries and if the role
is maintained Head of the Commonwealth which covers 54 nations across the world.

The baby is also 41st in direct line of descent from Egbert, King of Wessex who ruled from 802 to 839 and following
his royal grandfather Charles and his father William will be the eighth Monarch to descend from Queen Victoria and
he is her great, great, great, great, great grandchild.

Catherine, his mother, insisted the sex of the baby was unknown to she and her husband William. William and
George's royal uncle Prince Harry were both born in the same ' Lindo Wing' of St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington,
London. William the eldest son of H.R.H. The Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales then prior to their divorce
and losing her title H.R.H. The Princess of Wales weighed 7lb 1 1/2oz, his bother their younger son Harry 6lb 14oz
and their grandchild new George 8lb 6oz.

George's birth 60 yrs after his royal grandmother; Her Majesty the Queen's coronation in 1953 was traditionally
celebrated with a 41 gun salute fanfare performed by the King's Troop, Royal Artillery in Hyde Park, London. It seems
both his parents are keen to keep staff to a minimum and unlikely to have a nanny, Catherine in preference seeking
assistance from her mother Carole Middleton an experienced Mother having another two children; the younger sister
and brother of Catherine; Pippa and James. William and Catherine keen to give their son as normal a childhood as
possible as his mother Diana, Princess of Wales --George's paternal grandmother-- gave he and his brother Harry
which has resulted in their ease integrating with people. Both of them "People Princes".

"Catherine & Wills Baby Trip To Diana Grave"

Prince William will be taking son George to Diana's grave at Althorp. The emotional pilgrimage to Diana's resting
place at the Spencer family's ancestral home will be made by he and Catherine this autumn. William, who like his
younger brother Harry, feels their late mother is a constant presence is determined the royal baby should have a
strong bond with his grandmother who died in August 1997.

The new baby will be introduced to his great uncle, Diana's brother Charles; Earl Spencer. At present the family,
staying with Catherine's parents away from prying media eyes enjoying privacy, are considering having the official
photographs of them as the new family Wales taken at the Middleton's  home and  the photographer to be Mario
Testino who took the last official photographs of Diana which featured in Vanity Fair magazine of July 1997 and who
her sons say captured their mother as they most remember her.

A royal insider has said how William is adamant that Diana, whose death was 16 years ago next month, will be a large
part of George's life. He wants him to know what a special woman the princess was. William and Harry are regular
visitors to their beloved mother's grave on a tiny island within the 14,000 acre Althorp estate in Northamptonshire.

In April 2011 weeks before his marriage to Catherine he took his wife-to-be to the tomb where they laid flowers and
paid their respects to Diana. A source says that  Diana is very much a part of William and Harry's lives, as far as they
are concerned she is with them all the time.

The princes were so close to their mother and it will always be a tragedy to them that she could not be with them
during their adult lives. They visit her often and made a vow that they will always share the important times with her. It
will be a hugely poignant when Catherine and William take little George to visit his grandmother. As soon as
Catherine became pregnant William knew he wanted to introduce the baby to Diana at the earliest opportunity. He
wants it to be a regular thing and will explain to his son what a wonderful woman Diana was.

William wants to show off his son to Diana's family who are really proud of him and it is somewhere he can feel closer
to his mother. William's desire to have Diana as an important part of his family's life was shown when he gave his
mother's engagement ring to Catherine in 2010. At the time saying he gave the world famous Sapphire and Diamond
white gold ring to his bride to be as "My way of making sure my mother didn't miss out on today and the excitement"

" Hello Everyone,
I don't mind telling everyone that this article which Andrew has condensed and seen that Catherine is not
called Kate in has er .. really moved me. Andrew has the tears in his eyes but they are mine but happy ones with alright a
tinge of sadness, that of course I cannot grab George with both arms but I do so energetically.

I am as I have said on my site with my boys always, a mother's love never ever dies and I am so happy that
they both sense me around them and again say here that Penny Thornton, Andrew Morton and others who personally
knew me in life recognised me in the After - Life speaking through Andrew and I have so much to say to my boys and to
the newest member of William's family; my first grandson. I wait for the time when  that amazing opportunity is one
granted to me!"
